5 Must Do's For Your Skin In 2018!

Now that 2018 is here, a lot of New Year resolutions would be made and broken even faster. However, when your resolutions pertain to skin, hair and body and are made simple, I believe they can be followed and skin care becomes a discipline rather than a luxury.

So here are some of the must do's that should become a part of your thought process for great skin this year!

5 Must Do's

1.Always sleep with a squeaky clean skin! No matter what time or how late you are going to sleep, scrub your skin scrupulously before hitting the bed to remove dirt and grime. It will allow the skin to breathe, rest and repair from the damaging effects of weather, conditioning and pollutants.

2. Always maintain a habit of drinking a minimum of 8-10 glasses of water on a daily basis. This is not only to improve your metabolism but also to hydrate the skin. Not only does a sufficient intake of water helps in clarifying the skin, but it will also help in reducing dark circles, acne, dullness and most of all it will flush out the toxins!

3. Moisturise your skin. No matter what your skin type may be! It is a myth that oily skin does not need moisturising. What really matter is what you moisturize it with. So if your skin is oily, then just take a tsp of honey and add a pinch of powdered camphor to it and massage gently onto the skin. Wash off within 5 minutes. Your skin will be moisturized naturally, and your blood circulation will also improve. For dry skin, try 1 tsp of honey with almond oil as it works wonders!

4. Exfoliation is an essential part of skin care, be it the face or body. Depending on your skin type, choose the natural grains you want to work with and see the amazing results with just the right combinations. For example, if you have tired, dry and sluggish looking skin try the following as it's an absolute magic-
2 tsp almond powder
2 tsp powdered oats
1 tsp milk powder
1 tsp china clay
-Mix together with enough rose water or fresh milk to make a thick paste and scrub gently all over face and neck. Wash off with milk and then water.

If you have an oily skin-
2 tsp lemon peel powder
2 tsp orange peel powder
2 tsp red lentil powder
2 tsp fullers earth
-Mix with rose water and scrub gently in a rotating manner all over face and neck for 5 minutes and wash with cold water.
5. Protect your skin with a sunscreen as it is a must! Even if you are not going out, use a sunscreen specific to your skin type. If you have an oily skin then buy an oil free one and if you have a dry skin, buy a moisturizing sunscreen. Read your label carefully to check on the UV protection. There can be nothing more harmful than sun damage. Not only can it dehydrate your skin completely and rip the skin of its natural oils, but it can also lead to premature ageing and wrinkles; which is something you definitely don't want. UV damage is cancerous and must be avoided at all cost. Therefore I strongly recommend a sunscreen for people who are also indoors as they are also exposed to sunlight in some way or the other. Now that you have a short crisp set of 5 of the most important Must Do's in 2018, get cracking. We're already into the first month of the New Year and no breaking this resolution!
